VERTICAL FARM DAILY: University of Georgia adds AmplifiedAg container farms to its CEA research program, Unveils at UGA Grower's Day
"The most impactful research solves practical problems for growers"
At The University of Georgia (UGA), Grower’s Day, researchers unveiled the new AmplifiedAg container farm operation on campus. The team of CEA researchers at the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics are conducting critical CEA research that will be directly applied to production practicality.
In a Vertical Farm Daily interview, Andrew Ogden and Erich Schoeller, IPM Specialist and Entomologist at UGA, shared how the new AmplifiedAg container farms will amplify the university’s CEA research and ultimately benefit growers in the industry.
– Plant breeding; new cultivars specifically for CEA production
– Greater experimental reproducibility and data validation
– Pest management in specialty crop production
– Bringing together multiple disciplines to improve the efficiency, profitability, and sustainability of indoor production
Cheers to the rest of the incredible team at UGA making this work possible:
